Job Description:

Responsibility to lead, engage, motivate and develop the sales team in addition to developing and delivering a challenging National Sales Strategy.


To drive sales through the effective leadership of a sales and partnering with support functions.


§   Develop and implement a National Sales Strategy in line with corporate objectives including sales forecasting, objective setting and utilisation of the reporting system.


§   Responsibility for the sales function in ensuring the team are fully engaged with the sales strategy, motivated and developed to achieve their full potential.


§   Lead, Coach and Develop teams in their “day to day” improvement of sales and customer focused activities.


§   Responsible for the continued development of the existing customer base and identify and pursue new business opportunities, including the management of key account activity.


§   Responsible for achieving commercial sales and margin targets.


§   Ensures company policy is adhered to in relation to the discount structure and pricing policies.


§   Study, define and set realistic objectives for Sales Teams.


§   Identify areas to create value for the customer and lead subsequent actions to support these initiatives


§   Working cross functionally to develop an understanding and create engagement of the National Sales Strategy with Service, Marketing, Finance, Operations and HR.



Experience and Knowledge:

  • Engineering/Technical background


  • MBA or equivalent professional or vocational qualification preferred


  • Leadership experience within a sales management role


  • National and International travel


  • Relevant technical & commercial knowledge of the sales, product and marketing techniques required.


  • Results oriented and proactive – consistent overachiever of goals and objectives.


  • Ability to persuade and influence others and driven to achieve defined goals.


  • Ability to interact with clients in a professional and confident manner.


  • Customer-centric approach with a focus on understanding customer requirements and providing a total solution.
